Guest blog – Strength exercises to complement Marathon race training

I had the privilege of being friends with Kris Cann again after moving to Bournemouth in March 2013. Kris and I were friends as kids at the same school and since then Kris has become one of the foremost authorities in Personal Training in Martial arts and general fitness.

Kris has recently produced a helpful guide and set of simple exercises, recently published by Dorset papers, on how resistance training can help our running.

Whilst targeted at supporting runners in competing their first marathons I absolutely believe that even those with a CV of 50 marathons+ are likely to respond (even more so as the benefits of training to run by just running become somewhat exhausted) with the right targeted exercises.
